When I discovered the whimsical world of Jacek Yerka a few years ago I was rather captivated by its surreal quirkiness. Yet his art is impossible to define as perhaps you’ll agree after this viewing. Jacek was born in 1952 and lives in Poland, he has painted many pictures which you can see by visiting his website or searching his images online.
Here is a sampler of my favourites.
The Whimsical World of Mr Yerka …
I think I’d like to visit those villages! As I said, surreal and quirky.
Jacek has a thing for villages and habitation in all forms. Even for snails!
Mr Yerka’s whimsical world indeed!
He obviously likes nature …
I wonder if he likes glamping?
He certainly seems drawn to treehouses.
Nature in the home is a common theme …
as are machines and machine life, most strange and bizarre.
a telephone tank
and a crocodile car!
apples as smoke plumes,
weird wonderful whimsy …
Worlds within worlds,
his subjects are broad …
his topics are mostly light,
sometimes with dark undertone
wherever in his world you visit,
you’re sure to be entranced …
… that was just a glimpse into the Whimsical world of Mr Jacek Yerka.
